We’re Becoming a Worker-Owned Cooperative
Wouldn’t it be great if Seattle had an event planning co-op with diverse leadership that specialized in nonprofit events and community gatherings?
Well, our dreams are about to come true. At the end of this year, Synchronicity Events will transition from a one-woman-owned business to a Worker-Owned Cooperative with three women of color at the helm. Please meet the soon-to-be leaders of Synchronicity Events: Meera Bhardwaj, Rocio Miranda, and Trina Baker.

Over the last 8 years, founder Alex Martin and the team have built a business that supports organizations by collaborating to create their Best. Event Ever. It’s time to start a fresh chapter, and reinvent ourselves in our new co-op business structure, and we couldn’t be more excited!
Meera Bhardwaj and Rocio Miranda joined forces with Alex eight years ago when Synchronicity began, and two years ago we were joined by Trina Baker. Together these women have over 36 years of event production and 27 years of fundraising strategy expertise. Starting on January 1, 2027 they will be calling all the shots.
They’ll be supported by the rest of the company: our brilliant Production Specialist Gabrielle Woods, our Assistant Lovely de Leon, and our Bookkeeper Melissa Lowry.
Founder Alex Martin is beginning her exit! In 2027, she will step back into a very-part-time advisory role as a Co-op Board Member.
To our clients, who believed in us and have hired us since our founding eight years ago – and some clients even longer than that – you are a huge part of this story! Thanks for sticking with us through all our adventures. We hope we’ll be working together for many years to come.
And to our past Synchronicity teammates out there, each of you helped us build and grow our practices, and your fingerprints are all over this company. We appreciate you.
What’s ahead? Some things will not change. Synchronicity Events continues to offer event strategy, design, planning and production support to help our clients host their Best. Event. Ever. We work mainly with nonprofits and mission-driven organizations on the progressive side of the spectrum, and while most of our events are fundraising events, we also adore conferences and festivals and other gatherings in the nonprofit realm. Any place where people are gathering in community, with purpose, we would like to be there working our magic.
We love to close our events with a Call to Action – so, here are two ideas for you.
1. If you know an org who could use Synchronicity’s services, it’s a great time to be in touch! We are booking now for all of 2027 and we still have a couple openings in late 2026. Email hello@synchronicity-events.com to reach us!
2. Synchronicity is anticipating growth and we need to build up the team. If you know any event planners with experience in nonprofit fundraising, experienced executive assistants, or smarties who love small business marketing who might like the option to become a worker-owner, please tell them to follow us. We’ll be announcing open positions in the coming weeks.
