Alex Martin

Owner & Event Strategy Lead

With a background in performing arts, Alex is outrageously creative, shockingly practical, a designer of meaningful experiences, devoted to collaboration. Endlessly curious, proud gardening nerd, mother to a wonderful young man. Alex has been planning events for nonprofit orgs since 1998 and continues to find delight and inspiration in her work every day. If she were a spice, she might be smoked paprika; earthy and surprising at the same time.

Meera Bhardwaj

Event Producer & Strategy Lead

Meera enjoys spending time with Synchronicity clients, capturing and articulating their visions. She’s so proud and happy when Synchronicity clients exceed their previous fundraising! Meera came to event planning out of a career in political campaigns and organizing. She has made it 77% of the way through cooking all the recipes in Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi's cookbook Jerusalem. Spreadsheet wizard, sharp wit, not afraid to talk technology or politics. As a spice, she would definitely be cardamom.

Rocio Miranda

Event Producer

Rocio feels hopeful and happy when communities come together to enjoy and support each other. Rocio has worked in event management from the catering point of view and the venue point of view, and loves her role as a collaborator and advocate for Synchronicity’s clients. She lives for that moment when her client arrives on event day and gives a sigh of happiness because they know their event will be great! Indoor plant collector, outdoor adventurer, creates new things out of old things. She images herself as chimichurri sauce; herbaceous and citrusy with a subtle spicy kick.

Carrie Schaffner

Event Planner

Carrie honed her logistical prowess supporting science in Antarctica, and is happy to be using her skills to support mission driven organizations in the temperate climate of Seattle. Nomadic tendencies, passionate about food. As a seasoning, Carrie would be salt: rarely the center of attention, but essential for enhancing flavor and making all the other ingredients shine.

Lovely de Leon

Assistant

With a background in events and television production, Lovely is excellent at keeping tabs on things, reminding her team, and giving that extra kick of motivation.

Supermom to a special little boy and three beagles. As a spice, she is vanilla: sweet, warm, and uplifting, like the vanilla bean pod that gracefully holds everything together.

Charlene Tenio

Assistant

With a penchant for efficiency, Charlene takes care of details and brings creativity and passion to every project. Art-lover, volunteer, devoted to family and her canine companion. Charlene loves how cinnamon adds a warm and comforting touch. Like the spice that enhances both sweet and savory dishes, she bridges the gaps.
